Hello, Hello, Hello and welcome back! I am so excited that you decided to join me in this Ultimate Guide: Shedding the Worlds Standards for Yourself and allowing Jesus Christ to Define You! Today we are going to talk about what has defined you up to this point and why you must change your identity point of reference in order to be the powerful woman that you were created to be. You are in the the right place if you are a Christian woman who knows that there is more to life than the life you have been living. You know that you were created for greatness but you seem to miss the mark on various occasions and you aren’t sure why but you know there is a problem.
Powerful woman, you were created to be about to say, My Identity Is Secure!
You were created to be able to look to Jesus Christ for directions knowing that He would never lead you astray. Sometimes in this life we experience hurt, pain and trauma that tries to convince us that God does not love us, that we are not powerful and that we have to live a life that Jesus Christ would never want us to live. Powerful woman, no more settling! When you are secure in your identity and know what your purpose is in life you are able to shed the worlds standards for yourself and allow Jesus Christ to define you!
Powerful woman, what have you allowed to define you? What standards that come from the world system have you allowed to infiltrate your thought patterns and pull you out of the arms of the Lord? Before I allowed God’s word to transform my mind I was constantly allowing myself to be inundated with media and opinions of people who did not know Jesus Christ. I had to unplug from the world and plug into God in order to recalibrate myself in order to live the life that Jesus Christ died for me to live.
My journey to identity security began back in 2012, it started out with me wanting to really know who I was and what I really like and to begin to see myself as beautiful. I was overwhelmed by what people were saying to me about me and the images that I was seeing on the shows that I was watching. I got to a place where I began to believe that there had to be more out there for me besides what I was experiencing on a daily basis.
One of the biggest things that caught me by surprise on this journey to identity security was that I didn’t realize that in order for me to be secure in my identity that I would have to truly know God, not just on Sunday at church the way that the pastor portrayed Him but that I would need to know God as He truly is, which meant that I needed a deeper relationship with Him. Cultivating a deeper relationship with God would mean that I would have to challenge my current belief system and allow Jesus Christ to rewrite what I thought I knew about Him. One of the things that I thought was interesting on this journey is that it began as a superficial journey, a natural hair journey and ended in me knowing who I am in Jesus Christ.
Please note that the process of shedding the worlds standards was a painful process. I had to give up somethings that I enjoyed, but in return I received so things that I never knew I needed. One of my favorite phrases to say is, I do not know how I lived my life before without having a relationship with Jesus. My friend that I often say this phrase to said to me, I know how you lived, you live bound. She was absolutely right, I was so bound that I thought it was just a normal way of life. I thought that living in continually emotional anguish, fear and pain was how everyone lived and that I just had to suck it up and go about my business. I am so happy to say that I was not created to live in continually anguish, fear and pain and neither were you!!!!
Powerful woman, we were created to live as heirs and joint heirs with Jesus Christ. This means that all that He has access to, we also have access to. This means that we were meant to rule and reign just as Jesus Christ rules and reigns. This means that we were created to be lavished in the love of The Father just as Jesus Christ is lavished in the love of The Father. This means that we were meant to walk in unity and communion with Holy Spirit just as Jesus walked in unity and communion with Holy Spirit.
Powerful woman, we were created to be examples to those around us of the God that we serve. How can we be examples if we are living the same way that the world is living and therefore receiving the same results that the world is receiving. I came to a place in my journey where I wanted to be secure in my identity and I was willing to let go of those weights that were holding me back. I am looking forward to you letting go of the fears that have been sent from hell to derail your destiny. I am looking forward to you receiving healing and deliverance from past hurts and pain as well as you uncovering hidden patterns and cycles that are holding you back from walking fully in the destiny that God desires for you to have. Powerful woman, you have to let go of those things that you have become comfortable and accustom too, in order to walk in the fullness of all that God has for you.
In order to shed the worlds standard you have to be ready to live according to God’s standards. God’s standards are holy and they are righteous just as He is Holy and Righteous. God has laid out these standards for us in His Holy Word in order for us to live abundant lives. What have you allowed to define you? Have your relationships defined you? Have your roles or job functions defined you? Has your financial status defined you? Have your affiliations defined you? What have you allowed to tell you who you are and what you will obtain in this life?
Powerful woman, the great news is that no matter what has defined you up until this point you can change the trajectory of your life by letting go of those things and grabbing hold to the standards and instructions that God has laid out for you in order for you to be secure in your identity!
